Joe Igbokwe, a notable member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has strongly opposed the plan by a group of Nigerians to include Lagos State in their upcoming nationwide protests.
Omoyele Sowore, one of the main organizers, disclosed the protest details on his verified Facebook page on Sunday. He announced that in Lagos State, the protest would take place from August 1 to 10 at the state Secretariat in Alausa. Sowore posted, “#EndBadGovernanceInNigeria, LAGOS is READY! Venue: Lagos State Secretariat, Alausa Time: 7am.”
Additionally, Sowore mentioned that in Edo State, the protest would be held at the “Museum Ground, King’s Square, Ring Road, Benin City.”
In response to this announcement, Igbokwe expressed his disapproval of the Lagos venue, highlighting the significant damage caused by the 2020 EndSARS protest in the state. He commented, “To Alausa? Oga e no go work again ooooo. Lagosians no go smile this time around ooooooo. #ENDSARS nearly destroyed Lagos.”
