First Lady Assures Nigerians of President Tinubu’s Commitment Amid Economic Hardship
Oluremi Tinubu, Nigeria’s First Lady, affirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu harbors deep affection for Nigerians despite the current economic challenges. During a courtesy visit to the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, she conveyed her husband’s commitment to addressing the nation’s issues, according to a statement by her Media Aide, Busola Kukoyi.
“I assure you that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will do well for this country. He loves Nigeria, he loves Nigerians and will do the best for them,” she stated.
Oba Akiolu, in response, called for patience from Nigerians regarding Tinubu’s administration. “All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the president. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers,” he said.
This assurance comes as Nigerians face significant economic challenges, with headline and food inflation rates at 34.19 percent and 40.87 percent, respectively. Consequently, the purchasing power of Nigerians continues to diminish as the struggle with rising hunger intensifies.
