Popular Nollywood Actor, Zubby Michael, finds himself in the midst of a terrible controversy after being caught on camera doing what many Nigerians have deemed distasteful.
The king of African Magic Epic movies was seen visiting the family of the late Jnr Pope, who died last month in a tragic boat wreck. The family of the late actor said their final goodbye to their beloved on the 17th of May, 2024. Many actors trooped in for the funeral, while others paid their consolation visits.
Michael made headline news when a video surfaced of him visiting the family of the late actor. In the video, Michael was seen giving bundles of Naira to the wife of the late Junior Pope. Nigerians quickly labelled the entire ordeal as a show-off. In the past, Michael had been accused of being uncaring after news of his fellow Nollywood colleague’s death broke out.
Actress Angela Okorie called him out for remaining silent rather than grieving the loss of their beloved colleague. She called him out yet again about the display of cash.
“Zubby, na young person die. The showcase of money wasn’t necessary, but as a local boy that you are, you know you don’t have sense, you don’t know where to do show, and where to behave well. Abi you get money pass all the dignitaries wey come there? Mugu,” she wrote.
“Zubby, if you really wanted to give money to Junior Pope’s family, you for give them quietly. The way I dey take give you that year codedly, nobody go know. You carry camera plant make dem dey video you dey give bundle of money to JP family. We all know you with propaganda. Just get out abeg,” she added.
