The Nigeria Police Force has officially announced the dismissal of Inspector Adabo Mohammed for his involvement in the abduction and extortion of N29.4 million from a resident of Abuja. ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Spokesman, emphasized the decisive action as a commitment to upholding professionalism and integrity within the Nigeria Police.
Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, reiterated the force’s zero-tolerance policy towards indiscipline, emphasizing the mandate to serve and protect with honor and integrity. The statement underscored the comprehensive handling of reported cases against personnel, with due process and justice served accordingly.
The statement highlighted the dismissal of Inspector Adabo Mohammed for criminal conspiracy, armed robbery/kidnapping, and corrupt practices. Mohammed, along with five others, was part of an armed robbery gang responsible for a robbery in Gwagwalada, FCT, and the kidnapping of Ikechukwu Emmanuel Okafor in Tunga Maje. Additionally, Inspectors Osagie Efford, Semiu Agbekin, and Francis Ahuen, were demoted for extortion from motorists in Abuja.
The disciplinary actions, including demotions and hearings before the Force Disciplinary Committee for senior officers, reflect a broader initiative for comprehensive reforms within the police force.
