
Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi, a former Chief of Defence Staff, has passed away following a brief illness. According to family sources, he had been suffering from age-related health issues for several weeks before his death at his home in Abuja early Sunday morning.
“Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi passed on to glory a few minutes ago, early Sunday morning,” a family source confirmed.
Admiral Ogohi served as the Chief of Defence Staff from 1999 to 2003. He was notable for being the first Naval officer in the Nigerian military to achieve a four-star rank and the first Chief of Defence Staff from the Navy.
Hailing from Okura, Lafia in the Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, the late Admiral leaves behind a legacy of distinguished service.
