The Federal Government has announced that Monday, June 17, and Tuesday, June 18, will be public holidays in observance of this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, made this declaration on behalf of the government, extending congratulations to the Muslim Ummah both in Nigeria and abroad. This announcement was detailed in a statement signed by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Aishetu Gogo Ndayako.

Tunji-Ojo urged the Muslim community to continue embodying the values of peace, kindness, and sacrifice, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim (Peace be upon Him). He also encouraged the faithful to use this period to pray for the country’s unity, prosperity, and stability.

The Minister emphasized the administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of all Nigerians. He called on all Muslim faithful and Nigerians at large to support and cooperate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in his ongoing efforts to diversify the economy and enhance the nation’s economic recovery.
