SaharaReporters learnt that the outbreak of the disease was recorded in the Mubi North and Gombi local government areas.
According to reports from Chronicles Reporters, the outbreak of the disease has been documented in the Mubi North and Gombi local government areas of the state. Sources within the state’s Primary Healthcare Development Agency revealed that 23 fatalities were recorded in Mubi, with an additional 19 deaths reported in Gombi.
A reliable source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, disclosed, “Currently, there are over 200 confirmed cases among children, with 23 casualties documented in Mubi and 19 in Gombi.” The severity of the situation is underscored by the emergence of a suspected polio case in Gombi, prompting swift action from medical personnel dispatched to address the outbreaks in the affected communities.
Upon inquiry, Felix Tangwami, the state health commissioner, acknowledged the outbreak while deferring comprehensive details, including mortality figures, to a scheduled press briefing to be conducted by the deputy governor the following day.
The gravity of the situation necessitates immediate attention and decisive measures to contain the spread of the disease and mitigate its impact on the affected populations. Chronicles Reporters will continue to monitor developments closely and provide updates as more information becomes available.
