Danladi Chiya, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Abuja South Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives and former Chairman of Kwali Area Council, has commended the Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council, Mohammed Kasim, over the completion and commissioning of the Nyesom Wike Town Hall, declaring that the project demonstrates how governance should translate into tangible benefits for the people.

Speaking with ChroniclesReporters at the commissioning ceremony, Chiya said he was delighted with what the Kasim administration had achieved, insisting that the chairman had justified the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Gwagwalada.

He described the town hall as a significant achievement and expressed confidence that it was only the beginning of more projects under the Kasim administration.

Chiya also praised Gwagwalada residents for the support they had continued to demonstrate towards the council chairman, saying their confidence in his administration reflected their appreciation of the work being done in the area.

He further congratulated the Chairman of Kwali Area Council, Daniel Nuhu, as well as the chairmen of Abaji and Kuje Area Councils, AUA and Ezekiel respectively, for their respective contributions to their communities.

Speaking on his political ambition, the former Kwali chairman expressed appreciation to the people of Abuja South for the confidence and goodwill they had continued to extend to him, saying his aspiration to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives was driven by the desire to promote inclusive governance and expand opportunities for residents.

He assured that, by God’s grace, when he gets to the National Assembly next year, he would not betray the mandate, trust and confidence of the people.

Chiya said he would prioritise attracting foreign investment, creating employment opportunities for thousands of young people and providing greater support for artisans and small-scale businesses across Abuja South.

He also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for the ongoing infrastructure projects across the territory, noting that although considerable work had been done, more remained to be accomplished.

According to him, his proposed representation would involve working closely with the FCT Minister to attract additional infrastructure, investment and economic opportunities to Abuja South.

However, Chiya clarified that he was not at the commissioning ceremony to campaign but to celebrate what he described as a historic achievement alongside his friend and brother, Kasim, other area council chairmen and the FCT Minister.

He prayed for God’s continued strength for the Kasim administration and the people of Gwagwalada and Abuja South.

Earlier, Kasim expressed happiness over the completion of the Nyesom Wike Town Hall, describing it as a facility delivered for the benefit of residents of Gwagwalada Area Council.

The chairman disclosed that the project had required considerable commitment, adding that he had sacrificed personal rest to ensure its completion while supervising other ongoing infrastructural projects across the council.

He thanked Gwagwalada residents for their support and confidence in his administration, assuring them that more projects and interventions would follow.

Kasim also acknowledged the support of the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, particularly his contributions towards infrastructure development across the territory.

The council chairman urged residents to maintain peace, cooperate with the government and remain actively involved in the affairs of the area council.

He particularly encouraged residents not to be afraid of criticising his administration whenever they believed it was not meeting their expectations, stressing that constructive criticism was necessary for accountability and effective governance.

Kasim maintained that the government did not belong exclusively to him or his political appointees but to the collective people of Gwagwalada, insisting that residents had every right to demand accountability from those entrusted with public office.
