The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 15 suspects, comprising 14 Chinese nationals and one Nigerian, during an operation targeting four alleged illegal lithium processing plants in Ogere, Ogun State.
The arrests were carried out on Friday, October 23, 2026, by operatives of the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2, following intelligence gathering and surveillance.
Items recovered during the operation include bags of lithium rocks, 18 mobile phones, four laptops, two decoders, a television remote control and a trailer truck.
The EFCC said the suspects would be charged to court after investigations are concluded.
