An All Progressives Congress (APC) supporter has warned that Nigeria could collapse and cease to exist in its current form if President Bola Ahmed Tinubu fails to secure re-election in the 2027 presidential election, claiming that the country could be transformed into “something else” if the president does not return to office.
The supporter made the remarks while appealing to Nigerians, particularly parents and young people, to vote for Tinubu in the next presidential election, describing his administration as an effort to establish a solid foundation for the country’s prosperity, progress and future generations.
Speaking in support of Tinubu’s re-election bid, the APC supporter criticised opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, accusing them of being unfit to lead the country.
“To be candid with you, if Mr President, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is not elected to return, there will not be Nigeria. Nigeria will collapse. Who are the Atikus? Who are the Obis? Looters! Go and check their antecedents,” the supporter said.
The speaker argued that Nigeria needed a strong national foundation, claiming that previous administrations had failed to establish a solid structure capable of guaranteeing a prosperous future for the country.
“To be candid with you, Nigerians will have to set our foundation and make it very firm, or else there will not be Nigeria anymore,” the APC supporter said.
According to the speaker, Tinubu’s administration was working to establish a lasting foundation that would benefit future generations, unlike what the supporter described as the weak foundation inherited from previous administrations.
“And the effort of Mr President is to give Nigeria a proper foundation that our children’s children will benefit from and be happy with. Not this kind, the foundation they’ve laid for us that is not solid,” the supporter added.
The APC supporter further appealed to Nigerian parents and young people to support Tinubu, portraying his administration as necessary for achieving national prosperity, progress, happiness and stability.
“We don’t even have a foundation. So I’m appealing, and I’m appealing to Nigerian parents, I’m appealing to Nigerian youth that Mr President is trying to lay a foundation of prosperity, progress, happiness and joy for us. Forget about these people of Atiku and the rest,” the speaker said.
The supporter also accused Atiku, who served as vice president under former President Olusegun Obasanjo from 1999 to 2007, of misappropriating public resources while in office. However, no evidence was presented to substantiate the allegation.
The speaker also criticised Obi, describing him as a businessman and alleging that opposition politicians could mortgage or sell Nigeria if they were allowed to take power.
“Peter will be a businessman. He’s a businessman. They will mortgage this country. They will sell this country,” the supporter said.
The APC supporter further warned that Nigeria’s national identity could change if Tinubu failed to secure another term, referring to the country’s national emblem while making the claim.
“If Tinubu did not return… I’m telling you, see, this is our Nigeria. This is our emblem. This is our emblem. We will change it to something else,” the speaker said.
Reiterating the warning, the supporter insisted that Tinubu’s defeat in the 2027 presidential election would threaten the continued existence of Nigeria.
“There will not be Nigeria if Mr President, President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, did not return,” the speaker said.
The APC supporter concluded by expressing confidence that Nigerians would vote for Tinubu and urging citizens to support what the speaker described as an effort to establish a solid foundation for the country’s future.
“Thank you, Nigerians, and I believe we are going to vote for him and let us create and lay a solid foundation for our beloved country,” the supporter added.
