You can’t claim to be praying for Hon. Kasim Mohammed’s success while openly fighting the very forces and individuals working under the broader political leadership and alliances that support his administration as the Executive Chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council.
Leadership is a collective responsibility. No chairman can achieve everything alone without the cooperation, support, and commitment of the people working with him. Therefore, when you constantly fight those contributing to his administration’s progress, you risk creating obstacles to the very success you claim to be praying for.
You cannot destroy the foundation and expect the building to stand firm. You cannot weaken the hands working towards a common goal and still claim to be supporting that goal.
Now, let me make something clear. Before I made the decision to align with the Rainbow Coalition, I had to put every available option on a scale of preference, carefully consider the political realities, and examine which direction would best serve the interests of Hon. Kasim Mohammed and the people of Gwagwalada Area Council.
After weighing the options, my position was that supporting the Rainbow Coalition offered a strategic path towards strengthening the political support available to Hon. Kasim Mohammed and helping him deliver more democratic dividends to the people of Gwagwalada Area Council.
Why? Because politics is about alliances, cooperation, negotiation, and collective responsibility. No matter how committed a chairman may be, he cannot achieve everything alone without the support of influential political stakeholders and partners.
Without the leadership of Nyesom Wike, the involvement of Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, and the contributions of Bayani, Hon. Kasim Mohammed would face greater challenges in pursuing some of his political objectives and development ambitions. Their roles in the broader political arrangement are part of the reasons I consider the Rainbow Coalition worth supporting.
If we genuinely desire the betterment of Gwagwalada Area Council and sincerely wish Hon. Kasim Mohammed success, then we must also recognise the importance of supporting the political alliances and stakeholders helping to advance his administration’s objectives.
You cannot expect people at the top to stand with Kasim, support his political direction, and contribute to his success while you continuously attack them simply because of tribal sentiments, personal interests, or political disagreements.
Let us be honest with ourselves. If Wike is contributing to the development of the FCT, if Kasim is working to advance the interests of Gwagwalada Area Council, and if other political stakeholders are contributing their own quota, then the reasonable thing to do is to assess their actions fairly rather than allowing personal sentiments to dictate our positions.
Other states may have their reasons for criticising their political leaders. That is their right. But as residents and stakeholders in the FCT, particularly Gwagwalada Area Council, we should equally examine what these leaders and political alliances have contributed to our communities before rushing to condemn them.
From infrastructure to political collaboration and other development initiatives, the contributions of these leaders deserve to be discussed on their merits. Where there are shortcomings, we should raise them constructively. Where there is progress, we should acknowledge it honestly.
The question is simple: What exactly are we campaigning for if our actions undermine the very partnerships we believe can help deliver progress to our people?
If our genuine desire is to see Gwagwalada Area Council move forward, then our conversations should focus on development, democratic dividends, political stability, and the welfare of our people———not personal divisions and unnecessary hostility.
You see ba, I have made my choice based on what I believe serves the broader interest of Gwagwalada Area Council. You may disagree with my political decision, and that is your democratic right. But disagreement should never become an excuse to misrepresent people’s intentions or undermine every effort made towards collective progress.
If you truly wish Hon. Kasim Mohammed well, support constructive cooperation, encourage unity, and assess every political stakeholder based on their contributions, not their tribe or personal affiliations.
Let us stop pretending to support Kasim, while fighting the partnerships that help sustain his political direction.
Let us put the interests of Gwagwalada Area Council above personal sentiments. Let us embrace the true meaning of democracy, where people can work together despite their differences.
Enough of the double standards. Enough of the tribal politics. Let our actions reflect the prayers we profess. It’s not about Tinubu reelection, but about Gwagwalada progress under Hon. Kasim led Administration.
