The Nigerian flag has been fixed at Old Kutunku Primary School in Gwagwalada Area Council following a Chronicles Reporters publication highlighting concerns over the condition of the school and the absence of basic facilities.
The development occurred on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, following the publication which drew attention to concerns raised by Adeoye Adekunle Yusuf, popularly known as Omo Oba of Gwaz, over the state of the school.
Chronicles Reporters had reported that the school did not have a Nigerian flag or a school flag, while concerns were also raised over the need for stronger supervision and greater attention to the school’s basic requirements.
Following the publication, intervention was made and the Nigerian flag was fixed at the school today.
The development has been welcomed as a positive response to the concerns raised, particularly as the issue involved a basic symbol of national identity that should ordinarily be available in a primary school.
The intervention also underscores the importance of sustained public attention and community engagement in identifying challenges within public institutions and ensuring that responsible authorities respond to them.
While the fixing of the flag represents a positive development, attention is expected to remain on the broader concerns raised about the condition of Old Kutunku Primary School, including the need for adequate supervision and continuous improvement of the learning environment.
For the youths and community members who initially raised the alarm, the development is being viewed as a step in the right direction.
Chronicles Reporters will continue to monitor developments at the school and report further interventions as they occur.
