The Bauchi State governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Alhaji Usman Adamu Dan China, has formally launched his campaign ahead of the 2027 general elections, promising to prioritise youth empowerment, job creation, economic development and infrastructure if elected governor.
The campaign launch brought together AAC leaders, party stakeholders, supporters and other political actors from Bauchi State and beyond, marking the commencement of the party’s grassroots mobilisation for the 2027 governorship and presidential elections.
Addressing supporters at the campaign event, Dan China said his decision to contest the Bauchi governorship election was driven by what he described as the need for effective leadership and the creation of greater opportunities for residents of the state.
He said his proposed administration would place the welfare of ordinary citizens at the centre of its policies, with particular attention to young people and the economic challenges facing residents.
According to him, his administration would pursue measures aimed at creating employment opportunities, supporting businesses and providing an environment in which young people could participate meaningfully in the state’s economic development.
Dan China also identified infrastructure and broader economic development as major components of his proposed agenda, saying his administration would introduce programmes designed to improve living conditions and support development across Bauchi State.
He said youths would occupy a central position in his development plans, with emphasis on economic empowerment, job creation and opportunities that would enable them to contribute actively to the growth of the state.
The AAC governorship candidate called on Bauchi residents to support the party in the 2027 elections, presenting the African Action Congress as an alternative political platform focused on the interests and welfare of the people.
Other speakers at the event, including AAC leaders and supporters, called for stronger grassroots mobilisation ahead of the elections and urged greater participation by young people in the political process.
Supporters at the campaign launch also pledged to mobilise support for the party’s presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, across Bauchi State and other parts of Northern Nigeria as the AAC prepares for the 2027 presidential election.
The campaign launch comes as political parties and candidates intensify preparations and grassroots activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The AAC is expected to extend its mobilisation efforts across Bauchi State’s 20 local government areas, taking its campaign message to communities and engaging voters ahead of the governorship poll.
With the formal commencement of his campaign, Dan China is expected to continue meeting with residents and stakeholders, presenting his policy proposals and working to strengthen the AAC’s structures and support base across the state ahead of the 2027 election.
