Tunji-Ojo urged the Director General of the National Productivity Centre, Dr. Nasir Raji-Mustapha, to mobilize his staff promptly to initiate productivity audits and gap analyses for workers in the agencies under his purview. While addressing the Centre, the minister expressed dissatisfaction with its performance, criticizing its perceived inactivity and insufficient efforts in fulfilling its mandate and constitutional responsibilities. He emphasized that the organization had yet to reach even 10 percent of its potential in enhancing business operations and workforce productivity.

Highlighting the significance of technology in enhancing productivity, Tunji-Ojo shared how his ministry successfully cleared a backlog of 204,000 international passports using automated processes upon assuming office in 2023. He emphasized the implementation of a hybrid approach, which integrates technology with human factors to achieve efficiency and productivity. According to him, neglecting either element would result in a perpetual cycle of inefficiency, underscoring the importance of both a motivated workforce and technological innovation to optimize processes and achieve higher returns on investment.
