The Enugu State Government, under Governor Peter Mbah’s leadership, has entered a N100 billion agreement with Pragmatic Palms Limited, a newly registered company, to revive the dormant United Palm Products Limited (UPPL) in the state. Established in 1970, UPPL has remained inactive despite previous administrations’ efforts to revitalize it.

Governor Mbah signed the agreement with Pragmatic Palms Limited, which claims to be a subsidiary of Diamond Stripes Limited, on Friday, allowing the newly formed company to temporarily manage UPPL. Mbah emphasized that the deal is part of his administration’s commitment to boost the state’s economy significantly from $4.4 billion to $30 billion.

During the signing ceremony at the Government House Enugu, Governor Mbah highlighted the importance of agriculture as a business and assured that the government would support the partnership for mutual benefit. Adaora Chukwu, the Enugu State Commissioner for Trade, Investment, and Industry, described the agreement as a milestone with potential job creation and economic growth opportunities.

Pragmatic Palms Limited, registered just five days prior to the agreement, is headed by Nwangwu George as its Director.
