The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), led by its President-General and Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, emphasized to President Bola Tinubu the urgency for visible reforms to restore hope among citizens. Stressing the importance of national unity, Sultan urged Nigerians to uphold the nation’s indivisibility.

Speaking at the fifth anniversary of the 17th Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage-Mohammed (retd), in Lafia, Sultan acknowledged the nation’s challenges but rejected secession as a solution to insecurity. He urged continuous prayers for leaders’ success and swift action to tackle economic and security issues. Sultan noted the symbolic unity displayed by traditional rulers nationwide and called for broader unity among Nigerians.

Shehu of Borno, Ibn Umar-Garbai, urged citizens to provide credible information on criminal activities, emphasizing collaboration with security agencies. Dignitaries present included former governors Abdullahi Adamu and Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, alongside several traditional rulers from across the country.
