The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced a two-week power outage at its Amukpe substation, starting from May 4 and lasting until May 17. Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs at TCN, issued a press statement on Saturday, stating that the outage will affect communities in Edo State and Delta State.
According to TCN, the outage is necessary to ensure the safety of contractors working on the erection of two 132KV transmission towers at the substation. As a result, there will be no bulk power supply to Benin DisCo through the Adeje industrial, woodland, Mosogar, Sapele, and Abraka feeders during this period.
The company emphasized that the outage is essential for the completion of the transmission towers and the restringing of portions of the Benin-Delta and Delta-Oghara 132kV double circuit transmission lines. Consequently, the Amukpe Substation will be without power for the duration of the work.
