
At least 13 people have been confirmed dead following a fresh attack on Shuwari community in the Kirchinga area of Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
According to local sources, the assailants stormed the village in the early hours of the day, opening fire on residents and causing multiple fatalities, with several others reportedly injured. Eyewitnesses described scenes of panic as gunshots echoed across the community.
Shuwari, located near border regions within Madagali LGA, has faced recurring security challenges in the past due to its proximity to volatile areas. Residents said the latest attack has left families devastated, forcing many to flee to neighboring communities for safety.
Local vigilante groups and security personnel reportedly responded after the attackers had carried out significant damage. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding arrests or the identity of those responsible.
