Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has saddled the Nigerian military with complete power to mount decisive military action against terrorists, insurgidents, bandits, and separatists forces and individuals threatening the unity and territorial integrity of Nigeria .Via the Vice President Kashim Shettima at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL) in the city of Kaduna in a ceremony held in the famous Murtala square the President reiterated his administration focus in his support to the Armed Forces and all security agencies in their quest to secure the country.
I want to say with all the clarity of a very clear voice to the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army now is the time to stand up! Tinubu stated that he fully authorizes you with the trust of the people of Nigeria to meet head on and destroy those who are determined to bring down our country. He listed terrorism, banditry and insurgency in addition to separatism as existential threats which should be contained by making sure that the military will not lack modern weapon, actionable intelligence and better welfare by the government.
