Victims of abduction in Dandume Local Government Area of Katsina State have issued an urgent appeal for help in a newly surfaced video shared by their captors.
One of the victims, suffering from a gunshot wound, has called for immediate medical attention as his condition continues to worsen.
The footage, uploaded online by a user named Bakatsine, shows the injured man alongside two other hostages, including a child.
In the video, the gunshot victim, clearly in pain, revealed a serious injury to his arm and made a desperate appeal for medical aid.
“Please, come to our rescue. As you can see, my condition is dire. Look at the injury I have; I need help,” he said.
“Please come and treat me. I need immediate medical attention because the wound is getting worse, and it’s starting to smell.”
He also explained that he had been shot while lying down by the bandits, adding that some of his companions had already been killed.
“Please come and save us. My friends have been killed. I need medical treatment,” he implored.
For years, the Dandume Local Government Area has been plagued by insecurity, with bandits taking control of many villages, leaving residents in a state of constant fear and disrupting their daily lives.
Farming, the main livelihood in the area, has been severely affected by the ongoing violence.
Attempts by SaharaReporters to reach the spokesperson for the Katsina State Police Command, ASP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, were unsuccessful, as he did not respond to calls or messages.
