Yoruba Nation activist Sunday Adeyemo, better known as Sunday Igboho, has declared that if Nigeria cannot operate as a unified nation, the various ethnic groups should be given the opportunity to go their separate ways.
In a video obtained by Chronicles Reporters, Igboho, who was seen at an airport in the United Kingdom, expressed his frustration with the state of Nigeria, citing issues such as corruption, insecurity, and poor governance. He stated that these problems have led many Nigerians to feel disillusioned and unwilling to proudly identify as citizens of the country.
Igboho also drew attention to the alarming lack of security at Nigerian airports, where he claimed that passengers’ belongings are often stolen. According to him, such incidents contribute to the growing sense of dissatisfaction with the country.
“The security at the airports is nonexistent. They can steal your belongings right from your bag,” Igboho said. “These are the issues that make us ashamed to identify as Nigerians. This is why we are advocating for separation. If Nigeria cannot function properly, it is better that we part ways.”
He further emphasized that the Yoruba youth, who have gained invaluable knowledge and experience from their travels around the world, are ready to transform the Yoruba nation. With their expertise, Igboho believes that they can help build a prosperous and modern society similar to those in Europe.
“Our youths will transform Yoruba land. Many of them have travelled abroad and learned a lot. When they return, their knowledge will be crucial in rebuilding and transforming the nation into something like what we see in Europe,” he added.
