A 63-year-old farmer, Yemisi Akintunde, has recounted her ordeal following the arrest of her daughter, Kehinde, and her fiancé, Nurudeen Adesiyan, by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Modakeke, Osun State. The sudden raid, which took place in the early hours of the morning, left the family in distress and confusion.

Speaking with Chronicles Reporters, Akintunde described how the security operatives stormed their home without prior notice. She revealed that they forcefully gained entry by tearing the window net and shattering the glass. The commotion jolted her from sleep, and she was left in shock. According to her, the family had no conflicts with anyone, making the incident even more bewildering.

The arrest of Kehinde and her fiancé has since left the family searching for answers. Akintunde maintained that there was no reason for such a drastic action. The unexpected intrusion has created a feeling of insecurity within the household, as they struggle to understand what led to the operation.

At the time of the incident, the DSS did not provide any explanation for the arrests, leaving the family in the dark. Akintunde expressed deep concern, emphasizing that there had been no prior signs of trouble. She described the entire situation as alarming and beyond her comprehension.

Meanwhile, the incident has drawn attention from local residents, who are eager to understand the reason behind the arrests. However, no official statement has been issued by the DSS to clarify the matter, keeping both the family and the community in suspense.

Recalling the moment, Akintunde said, “They arrived very early in the morning. We had no idea they had come for Kehinde and her fiancé. They tore our net and broke the glass. I woke up in shock. I shouted! I had no issues with anybody, and I knew my children did not have problems with anyone. So, I was surprised to see that happening.”
