Residents of Doka Community in Kaduna State have called on Governor Uba Sani to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of a Senior Secondary Two (SS2) student, Ahmed Musa, at Government Technical College, Malali.

Ahmed’s father, Musa Muhammed, a journalist and activist, confirmed the heartbreaking news, stating that his son was found dead within the school premises on Sunday, February 16, 2025. In a statement, he described the incident as a brutal murder, carried out by unknown persons.

According to him, “Ahmed Musa’s body was discovered on the school grounds, showing clear signs of physical assault and strangulation.” He urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend those responsible for his son’s killing.

Meanwhile, the Kaduna Doka Development Association (KDDA) has also petitioned the governor, demanding urgent action. In a letter titled “Urgent Appeal for Justice in the Murder of One of Our Member’s Son (Ahmed Musa) at Technical College, Malali,” the group expressed their sorrow and called for justice.

Sani Rabiu Bako, chairman of the KDDA, emphasized that the murder had deeply affected not just the victim’s family but the entire community. He noted, “Ahmed Musa’s death under unclear and shocking circumstances has left his loved ones in agony. Losing such a promising young life is an immense tragedy, and we are counting on the governor’s intervention to ensure the perpetrators face justice.”

Bako further stated that the association has always worked to maintain peace, unity, and security within the community. However, the recent incident has shaken their confidence in the safety of their environment. He urged the governor to take swift action, which he said would not only restore faith in the justice system but also send a strong message against violence.

Copies of the petition have also been forwarded to the offices of the Commissioner of Police, the State Ministry of Education, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other security agencies.

“We appeal to Your Excellency to direct the relevant authorities to carry out a comprehensive investigation and ensure those responsible are arrested and prosecuted,” Bako said. “The safety of students in educational institutions must be a priority to prevent such tragic incidents from recurring.”

He further urged the government to implement stronger security measures, including increased surveillance, community policing, and a greater security presence in schools, to protect students.

“We understand the challenges facing the government,” Bako added, “but we are confident in your leadership and commitment to public safety. We trust that you will take swift action to bring justice to the bereaved family and reassure the public.”

When contacted, the spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mansir Hassan, confirmed that an investigation is underway. He stated, “Yes, we are looking into the matter. The Commissioner of Police has ordered a full investigation.”
