Otunba Nurudeen Aina Alowonle has categorically dismissed ongoing rumors suggesting that he has filed a lawsuit against His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, the Governor of Ogun State. Addressing the speculation in a statement, Alowonle condemned the allegations as “a real fallacy” and a product of “misleading news” propagated by individuals seeking cheap notoriety.
Alowonle, who expressed deep loyalty to the governor, emphasized that he could never sue “his beloved father and leader.” He underscored that Governor Abiodun has never posed an obstacle to his progress, questioning what basis there could be for such a legal action against a respected leader who is making significant contributions to the state.
He further challenged the originators of the rumor, demanding they provide evidence of a lawsuit, the court it was filed in, or details of the lawyer involved. “To sue someone of such prominence and popularity, particularly a governor known for his dedication to the people, makes no sense,” he stated.
In addition to addressing the lawsuit rumors, Alowonle refuted claims that he has defected to the opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), for financial support ahead of the 2027 elections. Pledging his unwavering allegiance to the All Progressives Congress (APC), he highlighted his active role within the party, including launching a campaign titled “Alowonle PDA 4 Ogun East Senate” to rally support for Governor Abiodun’s political aspirations in the forthcoming elections. He revealed that he has distributed over 3,000 campaign souvenirs to the people of Ogun East as part of this initiative.
Alowonle called upon the public to reject the false narratives surrounding his political affiliations and reaffirmed his commitment to the APC. He questioned the logic behind abandoning a party that has been pivotal to his success to align with a less influential opposition.
“I urge the public to disregard these fabrications,” he asserted, “These stories are simply not true, and they aim only to create division and generate baseless controversies.”
As he concluded, Alowonle reiterated his role as a dedicated member of the APC and his steadfast support for Governor Dapo Abiodun, reinforcing that any allegations of legal disputes or opposition alliances are mere fabrications.
