Gunmen have abducted the wife of retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, in Ogun State. The incident occurred at her residence in the Arepo area, with the assailants firing shots into the air to intimidate residents during the attack.
The Ogun State Police Command, led by CSP Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident, stating that officers have been swiftly deployed to ensure her rescue. Local security forces in the riverine areas, including Baale Warewa and Baale Maaba, have also joined the search efforts.
According to Odutola, “Information was received regarding the kidnapping of Mrs. Odumosu, a female resident of Aminu Street, Arepo, Ogun State. Reports indicate that she was about to enter her home when four masked men attacked her, dragged her from her Lexus Jeep, and took her through swampy areas to an unknown location.”
Odutola added that the State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has been briefed on the situation. She noted, “All covert operations have been deployed to assist with digital intelligence to ensure she is rescued unhurt.”
Security operatives are currently combing nearby bushes and swampy areas in an extensive search to secure her release.
