A grieving mother, identified as Ella, has taken to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to demand justice after the tragic death of her two-year-old daughter at a private school in Lagos. Ella alleged that her child, who went to school on Wednesday, did not return home alive.
In her emotional post shared on Thursday, Ella wrote, “Dear Lagos State Government, our two-year-old daughter went to school yesterday and did not return alive.” She raised serious concerns about the school’s safety protocols, questioning how a pool could exist on school premises without adequate supervision.
“They claimed she drowned in the pool,” Ella alleged, “but we’ve discovered it was electrocution, and they placed her in the pool to make it look like drowning.”
Ella accused the school of being dishonest about the incident, adding, “Now, they are deceiving other parents by saying the school is closed for maintenance instead of revealing the truth. If nothing is done to shut down this school, other parents might face the same tragedy.”
She also highlighted the implausibility of her child’s access to the pool, saying, “The pool is barricaded. How could a two-year-old climb over? Please help us seek justice for our baby. She just turned two last November. On January 15, 2025, she left for school healthy and never returned alive.”
Efforts to get a response from the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, were unsuccessful as he did not respond to calls at the time of this report.
