Two men arrested in connection with the abduction of Mrs. Folasade Odumosu, the wife of retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Hakeem Odumosu, have disclosed shocking details about the crime. According to the suspects, she was held captive in a bush located right behind her house for over a week.

The suspects, identified as 27-year-old Agbojule Smart and 30-year-old Keleke Michael, revealed that Mrs. Odumosu was kept in the bush for nine days. During this period, the kidnappers initially demanded a ransom of N40 million but eventually settled for N20 million, which was paid by the family.

Both suspects claimed they were hired for the job by an unidentified individual. When questioned, one of them stated, “A man gave us the job, but I don’t know his name. There were five of us involved in the operation, and we had three locally-made guns. We kept her in the bush behind her house, where there are plenty of palm trees. It’s a secluded area where someone could easily remain hidden.”

Another suspect corroborated this account, adding, “We hid her at the back of her house. If someone is in that area, they cannot be seen. We shared the ransom money, and I personally received N4.25 million.”

The abduction occurred at the entrance of Mrs. Odumosu’s residence in Arepo, Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State. She was dragged from her Lexus SUV and taken through a swampy area to the hidden location.

Police arrested the suspects on Friday, and during the rescue operation, two other members of the gang were reportedly neutralized. Authorities are continuing investigations to apprehend the remaining culprits.

Mrs. Odumosu’s release was confirmed on Thursday, bringing an end to her harrowing ordeal.
