A tragic incident unfolded early Sunday morning when a fuel tanker crashed at the Traffic Light Junction in front of Zenith Bank, Agbor-Warri, Delta State. The accident occurred just after 2 a.m., when the tanker reportedly lost control and exploded, triggering a catastrophic fire that quickly consumed the surrounding area.

Eyewitnesses described the terrifying moments as the explosion reverberated through the neighborhood, causing widespread panic. Several vehicles, along with their occupants, were caught in the inferno. Many were unable to escape the intense flames, resulting in numerous casualties, both dead and injured.

While some victims died on the spot, others were rushed to local hospitals with severe burns. The scale of the fire and the damage it caused has left the community in shock and mourning.

“It felt like something out of a nightmare,” recalled one witness. “The fire spread so fast, and the heat was unbearable. People were screaming and trying to flee, but some were trapped in their cars, and we couldn’t do anything to save them.”
