A devastating fire in Sokoto State has claimed the lives of the daughter and three grandchildren of Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, the Secretary to the Sokoto State Government.
The tragedy occurred at the home of Sifawa’s daughter, who was married to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the state Ministry of Sports and Youths Development. According to Chronicles Reporters, the fire erupted late at night while the family was asleep, quickly engulfing the residence.
Sadly, only Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello survived the blaze, leaving behind the harrowing loss of his wife and three children.
Burial Arrangements
The victims will be laid to rest at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque in Sifawa. The burial ceremony is scheduled to take place at midnight at the family home of Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa, the deceased woman’s father.
Cause of the Fire Unknown
Authorities have yet to determine the cause of the fire, which has left the community in shock and mourning.
Outpouring of Condolences
As news of the tragedy spread, many have expressed their condolences to the bereaved families. Among those offering support is the state Deputy Governor, Engr. Idris Mohammed Gobir, who visited Sifawa to pay his respects and console the family during this difficult time.
