Zamfara State was rocked by twin bomb explosions days after a series of deadly incidents involving explosives in the region. At least two bombs went off in separate locations within the Dansadau District of Maru Local Government Area. One explosion occurred along the road connecting Dansadau and Malamawa, while the second device detonated on Malele Road. Though the two explosions occurred almost simultaneously, no casualties were reported.

A local resident, Nuhu Babangida, told Premium Times that a Canter truck, which was transporting grains to the Dansadau weekly market, narrowly escaped disaster on Friday when it triggered one of the bombs. Passengers on the truck were fortunate to survive the blast.

This marks the third incident in just a week involving explosive devices on the Dansadau Road. On Wednesday, an explosion destroyed a bridge at Yar Tasha village, leaving 12 people feared dead. Another blast occurred on Sunday, when a bomb exploded under an 18-seater bus, killing the driver, who was the only person aboard.

According to Chronicles reporters, the state police command has confirmed that the newly formed terrorist group, Lakurawa, is behind these recent bombings in two villages within the Dansadau district. The confirmation came from Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Shehu Dalijan, who spoke to the press regarding the ongoing security situation in the state.
