Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), offering some relief to Nigerians as the holiday season approaches. The new price, set at N899.50 per litre, marks a drop from the N970 per litre announced on November 24.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the refinery explained that the price cut is aimed at reducing transportation costs during the festive period. The Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, Anthony Chiejina, outlined the company’s special holiday offer, which includes additional benefits for consumers.
“From today, our petrol will be sold at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or SPM. Additionally, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers can buy another litre on credit, secured by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina said.
The refinery expressed appreciation to Nigerians for their continued patronage and reiterated its commitment to providing high-quality, competitively priced petroleum products. Chiejina emphasized that the refinery’s operations have effectively ended Nigeria’s dependence on substandard and blended imported fuel, which have posed risks to health, machinery, and the environment.
With a daily refining capacity of 650,000 barrels, Dangote Refinery is the largest single-train refinery in the world. The facility is capable of meeting Nigeria’s refined petroleum needs entirely, with surplus production available for export.
This move underscores the refinery’s dedication to supporting Nigerians during the festive period and beyond, ensuring access to affordable and environmentally friendly petroleum products.
