Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has announced that 19 people have been confirmed dead following a new wave of missile and drone attacks by Russian forces.

In a statement on Monday, President Zelenskyy revealed that the strikes targeted multiple regions across Ukraine, with a missile attack hitting Kharkiv and numerous drones striking Zaporizhzhia. “Rescue operations are ongoing in Kharkiv. So far, we know of 19 casualties. In Zaporizhzhia, dozens of drones caused injuries, including to a child,” he said.

The President also reported that Odesa sustained damage from falling missile fragments. “This is just one day of Russian terror against Ukraine,” he lamented.

Providing a broader picture, Zelenskyy stated that since Sunday evening, Russia has launched approximately 150 aerial bombs, strike drones, and missiles targeting over ten regions across the country. “Combat operations are still ongoing against aerial targets that remain in the air,” he noted.

He expressed gratitude to Ukraine’s air defense forces, saying, “I thank the defenders of our skies for their round-the-clock efforts to protect our people.”

Zelenskyy called for stronger international measures to halt the attacks, emphasizing the need for increased sanctions, arms supplies, and decisive action. “These Russian strikes on Ukrainian lives can be stopped—with pressure, sanctions, blocking access to components used for terror weapons, and unwavering determination,” he concluded.
