The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) announced on Tuesday that it will commence computer-based examinations starting this Friday. In a statement from its spokesperson, Moyosola Adesina, the council explained that this year’s exams would utilize a hybrid format. This means that while objective or multiple-choice questions will be presented on-screen, candidates will provide their responses digitally. In contrast, essay and practical questions will also be displayed on-screen, but responses will need to be submitted using answer booklets provided during the exam.

Additionally, candidates who prefer a traditional approach can opt for the Paper and Pen mode for all examination papers.

The registration period for the exams has been extended to Tuesday, October 29, 2024, allowing more time for intending candidates to sign up. The council also introduced a ‘Walk-in-Candidate’ option for those who register at least 24 hours before their chosen exam date, which will be available until the end of the registration period. Interested candidates can download the final examination timetable from the WAEC Nigeria website.

WAEC encourages both prospective and registered candidates to utilize the various learning resources available. This includes signing up for the WAEC e-Study platform, purchasing WAEC Past Questions and Answers books, and engaging with peers through the WAECKonnect platform.

The council wishes all candidates success in their examinations and is committed to enhancing its services by integrating technological innovations to better serve all stakeholders.
