In a significant development for the Kano Emirate, Sanusi has appointed his eldest son as the new Ciroman Kano. The title of Ciroman is steeped in cultural and political significance, symbolizing an individual’s hereditary rights and responsibilities in managing various districts within the emirate. The late Ambassador Aminu Sanusi, the Emir’s father, previously held this prestigious title until his passing in the 1990s.

The most recent holder of the Ciroman title was Alhaji Nasiru Ado Bayero, who became the Emir of Bichi in 2020 but was removed from his position after four years. The upcoming ceremony to honor Sanusi’s son, who currently serves as a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), is scheduled for Friday, November 25, 2024.

In addition to Sanusi’s son, nine other individuals will also receive honors during the event. Among them are Mahmud Aminu Yusufu, who has been named the new Mai Unguwar Mundubawa; Dr. Abubakar Sanusi Usman Shehu II, appointed as Dan Galadiman Kano; and Alhaji Abubakar Aminu Sanusi (Wambai), who will take on the role of Dan Madami.

The list of honorees continues with Arch. Ali Muktar as Sa’in Kano; Sarki Yusuf Bayero ‘Yan Daka; Abdullahi Idris Bayero, who will serve as Fagacin Kano; Ado Abdullahi Aminu, taking on the title of Kaigaman Kano; Idris Sanusi, appointed Sarkin Sullubawa; Mansur Isa Bayero as Sarkin Kudu; and Abdullahi Sarki Mohammed, who will serve as Sarkin Yamma.

This event marks a pivotal moment in the ongoing traditions of the Kano Emirate, honoring both lineage and leadership within the community.
