Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Public Relations Officer of the Nigerian Police Force, has taken to social media to express his reaction after seeing images of some police officers involved in a viral extortion case in Owerri, Imo State. These officers, caught on video extorting money, are now facing internal disciplinary action.

The Imo State Police Command, through its Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, shared photos of the officers undergoing orderly room trials. Okoye posted: “The Imo State Police Command has commenced an orderly room trial against officers caught in a viral video extorting money in Owerri…”

ASP Henry Okoye’s tweet, which included photos of the trials, sparked reactions across social media. Among those who responded was Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who commented: “Commendable. I hope other PPROs and commands will be naming and shaming those individuals who are out to rubbish the force…”

Adejobi’s response further stirred discussions among Nigerians and social media users. While some applauded the efforts to hold erring officers accountable, others questioned whether dismissal would be the only consequence, urging for stricter measures.
