Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has denied a recent bail application from Tigran Gambaryan, an executive at Binance, who is facing money laundering charges. This ruling follows the appeal of his initial bail request, which was also denied due to health concerns.

In his decision, Justice Nwite described the current bail application as “an abuse of court process,” noting that the matter is still under appeal regarding the previous bail denial.

Gambaryan’s legal team continues to advocate for his release, emphasizing his worsening health condition. They argue that he is suffering from a disk issue that requires immediate medical intervention, supported by medical reports from the State House Annex Clinic in Asokoro that recommend surgery.

In contrast, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) opposed these claims, asserting that Nigerian hospitals are fully equipped to provide the necessary care. The EFCC presented a report from Nizamiye Hospital, which countered the family’s assertion that Gambaryan “can no longer walk.”
