In a significant operation, military forces have neutralized another notorious bandit leader, Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji, in the Mada area of Gusau, the capital of Zamfara State. According to reports, Gurgun Daji was eliminated during a military offensive in Kwanar Nasiru, a village located east of Mada town in Gusau Local Government Area.
A local resident, Muhammad Ismaila, described the encounter as intense, but expressed relief at the outcome. “It was a tough battle between the military and the bandits. We are happy that the bandits’ leader has been killed, and we believe this will bring peace to the area if the security forces continue their efforts against the bandits,” Ismaila said.
Kachalla Ibrahim Gurgun Daji was infamous for his criminal activities, particularly violent attacks along the Kwatarkwashi-Mada road and neighboring regions. His death is seen as a major victory in the ongoing efforts to curb banditry in Zamfara State.
Attempts to reach the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Police Command, ASP Yazid Abubakar, for comments were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
