The Lagos State Police Command, through the Elere Police Division, has begun a search for a man identified as Kadiri Yusuf, also known as Alado, who is accused of physically assaulting and abusing his two children. According to a report released by the police on Sunday, Yusuf allegedly beat his 11-year-old daughter, a primary school student in the Orile Agege area of Lagos, and her 13-year-old brother, inflicting injuries on both of them.

The situation came to light when the head teacher of the primary school attended by the 11-year-old girl filed a report with the Elere Police Division. The teacher stated that at around 7 a.m. on Friday, the young girl came to school and reported that her father had beaten and injured her earlier that morning. The girl also disclosed that her older brother had been similarly assaulted by their father.

Following the head teacher’s report, police officers retrieved the two children. They were immediately treated for their injuries and handed over to their maternal aunt for their protection. Meanwhile, efforts to apprehend Yusuf, who is currently on the run, are ongoing.
