Canada has expelled six Indian diplomats, including the high commissioner, in connection with allegations of violent criminal activities involving the Indian government. This decision was confirmed by a senior Canadian official, as reported by the Associated Press.

The official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, revealed the news on Monday, citing restrictions on discussing the issue publicly. This move follows India’s announcement of the withdrawal of its diplomats, which came after Canada labeled the Indian ambassador a “person of interest” in an assassination investigation.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau previously highlighted credible allegations linking the Indian government to the assassination of Sikh activist Hardeep Singh Nijjar. In a strong rebuttal, India described these accusations as “absurd.”
