
A late-night attack in Kebbi has left two people dead and several others kidnapped. Among the victims was Sheriff Almu, who was killed during the raid. Three additional individuals sustained gunshot injuries and are now receiving medical care. In a separate incident, Alhaji Bako Bala, the APC chairman for Suru Local Government Area, was also killed in his hometown of Takalafiya. Another person was abducted in Matseri village, situated in the Bunza region of the state.
Police Public Relations Officer, SP Nafiu Abubakar, confirmed the attacks, stating that a joint security team, spearheaded by the police, has initiated a search operation to locate the abducted individuals and apprehend those responsible for the violence.
Kebbi’s governor, Nasiru Idris, voiced his deep concern regarding the abduction of the district head and the other victims. He assured residents that the state government is collaborating closely with security agencies to ensure their safe return.
The governor also noted that essential resources have been allocated to enhance the fight against banditry in the area, demonstrating the government’s commitment to restoring safety and security.
