Fatimo Agboke, a 19-year-old woman, has been charged with the fatal stabbing of her neighbor’s son, Faroul Azeez, during a confrontation in the Ijegun area of Lagos State. The incident took place around 9:20 p.m. on September 9, 2024.

According to State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin, the altercation between Agboke and the 20-year-old victim escalated when Agboke allegedly used a broken bottle to stab Azeez in the neck, leading to his death.

Efforts to transport Azeez to the hospital were unsuccessful as he passed away en route.

Hundeyin provided further details: “On September 9, 2024, a complaint was lodged at the Isheri-Oshun Division by a resident reporting an argument between his son and a neighbor. The victim was attacked by Agboke with a broken bottle, which inflicted severe injuries to his neck. Despite attempts to rush him to a hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.”

When police arrived at the scene, they found Azeez’s body lying in a pool of blood with a deep neck wound. The body has been taken to Mainland General Hospital in Yaba for an autopsy.

Agboke has been arrested and is currently in custody. An investigation is ongoing to determine the full details surrounding the incident.

This case echoes a similar one reported by PUNCH Online in February 2024, where a middle-aged woman named Cynthia Aigbondon was arrested for fatally stabbing her neighbor, Barakat, in the Ajegunle area of Lagos.
