The current political climate in Nigeria is a tumultuous one, with widespread corruption and injustice plaguing the nation. In the midst of this chaos, one figure has emerged as a voice of dissent β Very Dark Man. However, recent events have called into question the authenticity of his motives and the true nature of his allegiance.
Many believe that Very Dark Man is nothing more than a puppet, planted by the very system and structure of criminality that he claims to be fighting against. His recent meeting with the Minister of Interior, Olubumi Tunji-Ojo, has raised eyebrows and fueled speculation about his true intentions.
Under Tunji-Ojo’s incompetent watch, gross malfeasance and incompetence is recorded as evidenced by the case of Bob Risky not facing jail time for his crimes. The suspension of prisons officers in the aftermath of this scandal is merely a band-aid solution to a much deeper issue.
If Very Dark Man truly cares about the plight of the suffering masses, he should raise a banner demanding the immediate resignation of the Interior Minister. Real fighters do not cozy up to the very thieves in power that they claim to be fighting against. This is not the way of Fela Anikulapo Kuti, nor is it the way of any true revolutionary.
In order to bring about real change and ensure a better future for Nigeria, it is imperative that we see through the facade of figures like Very Dark Man and hold those in power accountable for their actions. Only then can we hope to truly challenge the system of criminality that has kept the masses oppressed for far too long, the one very issue, the #FearlessInOctober tends to solve.
