Former President Donald Trump, 78, has indicated that he does not plan to seek the presidency again in 2028 if he loses in the upcoming election.
In a recent interview with Sinclair Media Group, Trump was asked whether he would consider a future run if defeated by Vice President Kamala Harris. He replied, “No, I don’t. I think… that will be it. I don’t see that at all.”
Despite expressing this sentiment, he added, “Hopefully, we’re going to be very successful.” This acknowledgment of potential defeat is notable, as it marks the second instance in just four days where Trump has referenced the possibility of losing, according to BBC reports.
At an event organized by the Israeli-American Council, Trump further elaborated on his views about losing, stating, “Do they know what the hell is happening if I don’t win this election? The Jewish people would have to do a lot with that if that happens because at 40% [support], that means 60% of the people are voting for the enemy.”
These comments drew sharp criticism from both the Harris campaign and organizations such as the American Jewish Committee and the Anti-Defamation League.
Current polling shows Harris leading Trump with 52% to his 48%, while surveys in key battleground states reflect a tighter contest at 51% to 49%.
