In a recent statement, activist Omoyele Sowore declared that anyone attempting to orchestrate his arrest is misguided, asserting that Nigerians are increasingly disillusioned with the Tinubu administration. He emphasized that citizens are no longer fearful, stating, “Nigerians have reached a point where they are no longer afraid of death.”
Sowore criticized the current government’s economic policies, claiming they have severely impacted the populace. He pointed to the recent Edo election as evidence that relying on traditional electoral processes will not resolve the ongoing issues facing Nigerians.
The activist made it clear that protesters are unwilling to engage in covert discussions with government officials, insisting that the Nigerian government does not genuinely believe in dialogue but prefers to impose its agenda on the people. He expressed frustration over the betrayal felt by labor leaders following numerous negotiations, particularly highlighting the recent arrest of Joe Ajaero, President of the Nigeria Labour Congress.
Sowore condemned the Bola Tinubu-led government for subjecting citizens to increasing hardships, noting the skyrocketing costs of fuel, electricity, and education. He argued that many Nigerians are struggling to afford basic necessities due to these detrimental policies.
