The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reiterated its warning to comedians and skit makers against using its uniforms and operational gear in their videos.

In a statement released on Monday, the EFCC highlighted that an older video titled “EFCC and Army Wahala” is gaining renewed attention on social media.

The Commission emphasized the need for content creators to stop using its operational equipment irresponsibly. “This resurgence compels the EFCC to remind skit makers and other social influencers to refrain from illegally portraying the Commission’s gear in their works,” the statement read.

The video in question caricatures the EFCC’s operational conduct, showing supposed operatives behaving violently towards “suspects.” The EFCC described this portrayal as not only embarrassing but also a deliberate effort to tarnish its reputation.

The Commission clarified, “EFCC operatives are not bullies. They are trained professionals who embody decency, civility, and respect for the public, including those suspected of economic and financial crimes.”

The EFCC has once again warned creators to avoid the unauthorized use of its uniforms and other operational items.
