In a significant law enforcement operation, Ogun State police have captured Samuel Olamide, known as ‘Na God,’ a prominent figure in drug trafficking. Olamide was detained while attempting to withdraw a substantial sum from a local bank on Friday. Authorities have linked him to 20 bank accounts allegedly used for laundering drug money, highlighting the complexity of his operations.

Olamide had been sought by both national and international law enforcement agencies for his role in a widespread drug trafficking network that spans Nigeria and beyond. His capture marks a crucial step in combating narcotics in the area.

Police spokesperson DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi revealed that Olamide’s organization employed numerous bank accounts to hide their transactions and avoid detection. Investigators believe these accounts were instrumental in financing significant drug shipments and other criminal endeavors.

Additionally, two former convicts, Ibrahim Umar and Kabiru Sani, were arrested for their involvement in trafficking illegal drugs. Both had previously been incarcerated for similar crimes and were apprehended while transporting a large quantity of narcotics to Lagos.

Ongoing investigations aim to uncover more details about these operations, and the suspects are expected to face charges in court shortly. These arrests reflect Nigeria’s intensified efforts to dismantle drug cartels and hold traffickers accountable.
