Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has authorized the extension of the work-from-home policy as a measure to alleviate the impact of the recent fuel subsidy removal.

This initiative, which began on February 28, allows employees on grade levels 01 to 14 to work remotely for two days each week, while those on grade levels 15 to 17 are permitted to work from home one day per week.

The extension of this policy, effective from September 4, was communicated in a circular signed by the Head of Service, Bode Agoro, and was reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Governor Sanwo-Olu pointed out that the policy has already led to increased productivity across various ministries, departments, and agencies within the state government.

Meanwhile, SaharaReporters disclosed on Tuesday that fuel prices have surged to over N850 per litre at Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) stations nationwide. The report stated that this hike follows a directive from NNPC management, which mandated an increase in fuel prices from N568 to N855 per litre.
