Troops from the 6 Brigade/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) have arrested Miss Markus Grace, a suspected informant for kidnappers in Taraba State. The arrest was made on September 6, 2024, in Sondi village, Wukari Local Government Area, and was announced in a statement released early Sunday in Jalingo, the state capital.
The statement, signed by Captain Oni Olubodunde, Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, confirmed that Miss Markus Grace is believed to be the girlfriend of a notorious kidnapper named Chen, who has been terrorizing the region.
“The suspect is currently in custody and is undergoing further investigation to determine her involvement in various criminal activities,” the statement said.
During the operation that led to her arrest, the troops reportedly recovered an AK-47 rifle and a vehicle. The soldiers have vowed to continue efforts to rid the state of criminals who are making life difficult for the people of Taraba. Grace is accused of aiding kidnappers and other criminal elements in the area.
