The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced a halt in the collation of results for the Edo State Governorship Election, which took place on Saturday. According to reports from SaharaReporters, results from 16 local government areas have been compiled, with two remaining: Oredo and Ikpoba Okha. These two councils represent the largest voting populations in the state.
During the suspension of results collation, Prof. Faruk Adamu, the INEC State Returning Officer and Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology in Minna, Niger State, confirmed that the results from these two local governments were still pending. He stated, “The results are not yet available. I cannot specify when they will be ready, but we will reconvene at 5 PM,” expressing hope that the final results might be prepared by then.
