The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has issued a directive to the Nigeria Police Force to arrest Nigerians illegally using military stickers and insignias. This action follows repeated warnings against the unauthorized display of military-related symbols.
In a statement released on Thursday by the Director of Defence Information, Tukur Gusau, the DHQ emphasized the ongoing ban and urged Nigerians to stop using military stickers or insignias, especially on their vehicles, without authorization.
The statement read, “The DHQ has observed the continued violation of the ban by some individuals, despite several warnings to desist from such unlawful acts.”
The military explained that the directive to the police aims to address the increasing misuse of military stickers and insignias to evade security checks. The DHQ has instructed law enforcement to arrest and prosecute anyone found guilty of this offense.
The military urged the public to comply with the directive to avoid facing legal consequences.
